IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover, IL-2, 1C Company, Maddox Games, Lentosimulaattorit, Toinen maailmansota

Lentosimulaattorien ystävät ovat hienoja ihmisiä mutta myös mahdottoman rasittavia ja vaativia persoonia. Se pilkunnysväys ja niittien laskeminen kun ei lopu ikinä. Täydellistä ja lentosotaa täydellisesti mallintavia simulaattoreita ei ole koskaan ollut, eikä koskaan tule.

Maddox Gamesin työstämää IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover -simua on odoteltu iät ja ajat, minkä johdosta pelin kohdalla onkin tehty jonkinasteinen whinen maailmanennätys. Peliä ei ole vielä edes julkaistu eikä siitä ole demoakaan, mutta lentomalliwhine alkoi jo nyt.

Onneksi kyse on sentään vitsistä. Ja oikeastaan aika hyvästä sellaisesta, sillä simukansa loikkasi messiin täydellä sydämellään. Vaikka jotkut tylsimykset yrittävätkin olla tosissaan.

Lainauksia:

• The Spit flies like a tie fighter. Allied propaganda. Communist rewriting of history. Our precious bodily fluids have been invaded.
• As the pilot figure in the Bolton Paul Defiant is too small the view forward over the nose (VFOTN) is wrong and the muzzle flash is much too bright. Also the FM appears to be based on pilot accounts and not hard data.
• I bet its FM is, like, totally porked.
• I heard they used Gal3n Thurb3r’s novel ”Mein Kampf” to code the internal lobby system…
• OH NO! They Haven’t modeled privys!!!!! My God! We don’t stand a chance!!!!!!
• This sim can’t be regarded seriously because it doesn’t model the most important aircraft of the Battle of Britain, the (…Insert Aircraft Name Here)
• For mine the obvious one missing is the Whirlybird, which singlehandedly won the BoB.
• I think the .50 cals in the G.50 are way too inaccurate. I mean, the .50 bullets had such great ballistics, even the italian guns and bullets. They definately need to be improved.
• As for the 109 E3, i think it turns way too badly. I mean, one german ace said himself, that he could outturn every Spitfire with ease, so the plane should be able to do that in CoD too. It’s just a myth tha the Spitfire was a good plane, that’s pretty obvious, when you take a look at how many planes were shot down by Hurricanes. So the Spit could obviously not have been that good, otherwise it would’ve shot down the most planes. It only looked better.
• Why do a 1940 sim without the Su-2 in it.
