Kaz Hirai ehdolla Sonyn johtokuntaan

Sony Computer Entertainmentin toimitusjohtaja Kazuo Hiraita ollaan ylentämässä Sony-emoyhtiön johtokuntaan. Tietojen mukaan Sony hakee lisävahvistusta johtokuntaansa lievittääkseen toimitusjohtaja Howard Stringerin työtaakkaa. Stringer jatkaa siis edelleen toimitusjohtajana, mutta saa seuraa joko Hiraista tai Hiroshi Yoshiokasta, joka johtaa Sonyn kamerabisnestä.
Hirai oli mukana luomassa PlayStation ja sen seuraajan menestystarinaa Pohjois-Amerikassa. PS3:n lanseerauksen jälkeen hän syrjäytti Ken Kutaragin Sony Computer Entertainmentin johtajana.
